Dan Moon

My ping pong journey began when my taekwondo teacher left the US to return to his hometown in South Korea. Upon arriving in the states, I picked up taekwondo at my local church. Soon after joining, my teacher told us he was leaving to go back to South Korea, and the church decided to remodel the facility into a ping pong club. From there, I got lessons from local church members, trained with a relative of a South Korean National Team Member, Oh Sang Eun, and rose through the ranks in the facility. I began playing in tournaments throughout the Northeast and even had the opportunity to play with the South Korean Junior National Team when they visited the US. I continued to play in college, creating and leading the Temple University Table Tennis Team and qualifying for Nationals numerous times throughout my career. Now, a few years out from college, I work full-time as an engineer in medical devices and part-time as a ping pong coach. But don’t be fooled… I’m always down to take a challenge or two on the table as a SPIN PRO!
