HOW TO HIT WITH TOPSPIN
This video is a little more technical so we decided to invite our other SPiN ambassador “Da Infamous Wally Green!” Play close attention, young ponger, as you’ll get the key to mastering speed and control of the pong…
The topspin loop is used so you can add a lot of effect to the ball. It can also be used to counter a ball that comes to you with a lot of spin.
Keep the upper arm and angle of the racket closed.
The left foot should be slightly in front of the right for support and vice versa for backhand. Let the waist turn naturally along with the arm and shift your weight toward your front foot at the same time.
When swinging add a little upward motion to provide additional force. Swing forward with a downward motion, and when the racket reaches the ball snap the wrist forward for extra racket speed. Follow-through should finish when racket is parallel with the left or right shoulder.
Be sure to contact the top half of the ball when hitting topspin drives – resulting in a large amount of topspin.
Now young ponger… go practice!
