HOW TO HOLD THE PADDLE
Let’s start this off on the right foot, or, in this case, hand. Learn about the 2 different grips, pick yours and get the ball rolling!
LET’S GET STARTED
They are 2 standard grips – the Shakehand grip and the Penhold grip.
THE SHAKEHAND GRIP
Place your hand on the racket handle and then wrap your fingers lightly around it.
The racket is held in the palm of the hand. Put up your forefinger and therm on the straight edge of the paddle.
With the Penhold grip, you essentially hold your paddle just as you would hold a pen.
The thumb and forefinger circle around the handle. The other three fingers curl or spread on the back surface.
Now pick your grip and let’s get going! Make sure to check out our next video to learn about the basic racket angles…
