Lukasz started playing table tennis at the age of 6 with his father on the kitchen table in their home in Krakow, Poland. Soccer was his first game of choice before he decided to come back to play table tennis at an already late-bloomer age of 11. The coach at the club told him he was wasting his and everyone’s time due to his “advanced” age and did not take him seriously at first. Three stubborn years later, Lukasz beat everyone at that club, including the coach and took the title of Krakow’s Cadet Champion. The same year he had been recruited to play as a professional to Vienna, Austria’s famous SVS Table Tennis league where he had trained and competed alongside World Champion, Werner Schlager for the next 10 years. In the interim, Lukasz took the title of Junior Champion of Vienna, Austria. In 2003 Lukasz competed as the European Cup of Champions team member and in 2011 he took the title of National Collegiate Champion as a member of the Texas Wesleyan University table tennis team. Lukasz is certified as a National Level Table Tennis Coach – the highest coaching certification granted by the US Table Tennis Association.
