ABOUT ALLEN
Allen began professional Table Tennis training at age 12 in Michigan. He has been playing competitively for the past 15 years and is the current 3 time men’s singles state champion of Virginia and current 2-time doubles state champion.
After playing competitively for many years, he went on coaching and playing exhibitions for the past 10 years. He’s also been the head coach at Michigan State University and George Washington University. Allen also currently works with the US Patent and Trademark Office and enjoys skiing, singing, travelling, playing basketball and competitive badminton in his free time.

When and why did you start playing ping pong?
I started playing competitively when I was 12. My family wanted me to get involved in competitive sports and I had always loved playing ping pong with friends so I decided to start professional training.
What has ping pong taught you the most?
What it means to be an athlete. The hard work and the mindset of what it takes to be an athlete at high level is something I will take with me for the rest of my life.
Where do you see ping pong going?
I see it getting more and more popular!!
What do you love most about ping pong?
That it needs the body of an athlete and mind of a chess player
